Playdate with Emma

I know many of you have heard about Gracie's playmate Emma who was diagnosed with cancer at 7 months. Emma is now cancer free and has hair! Gracie and I visited Emma, her Mommy, Renee and her new baby brother Garrett on Saturday for a playdate. Here is the picture montage of the experience.

Same game, different day

Gracie loves playing with doors. It's one of her new favorite things.

Latest on the house

The house is almost done. We have our final walk-through on the 14th, and close on the 20th. So here is the front of the house...all done except for the yard.

And here is the kitchen a couple weeks ago.

House update

We've been very busy with stuff for the house, Gracie running around, work, and social events of the summer. So sorry it has been so long since the latest update. The house is about a month from completion. Here are some pictures from a couple weeks ago .

The picture of the front is actually a month or so ago - there is more done now. The yard has been graded, the sidewalk and driveway are in, that sort of thing. And of course, a pic of Gracie playing around.

Gracie at the Beach

It was Delaware a couple weekends ago. It was cold. It was rainy. There were fleece jackets, not bathing suits. Oh well. She still had fun.

On the house front, they are putting in the wiring and ducts. Not that exciting, so no pictures this week.

Shoes!

Gracie is obsessed with her shoes. Here she is fiddling with her shoes before church this past weekend. Super-cute skirt/kilt courtesy Grandma. (and notice the other shoe near her....she sees her shoes and gives out a cheerful "Shoooooes!" She also does that at the mall. I am scared already).

More house progress

We now have windows and doors. Also, there were stairs inside, so we were able to see more of the inside (but those pictures are too narrow to see anything useful). Since the weather has been clearer, the ground was dry and we were able to look all around without getting muddy.

Here is the first picture of the back of our house. Our neighbor's house is moving right along too. Last week, they just had a floor, but now the frame is all up. It's about two weeks behind our house, I'd guess. You can see a bit of it in the pictures.

We have a roof!

We did our usual Sunday drive by the new house today. We were not expecting much progress because it rained a lot this past week, especially earlier in the week. But we were not disappointed. The roof is papered and shingled. Once the windows are in, the frame will be considered complete and they will start putting in duct work, plumbing pipes, and electrical wiring.

Working from home in your PJs

Laura and I both would love to telecommute for work and lounge in our pajamas while pecking at the computer. Unfortunately, we have no such luck. But apparently Gracie does:
